Logic and Wiz Khalifa are joining together for a tour. The Maryland rapper is gearing up to release his new album Vinyl Days and will be touring with Taylor Gang to promote it.
Beginning on July 27 in Irvine, California at the FivePoint Amphitheatre and concluding on September 2 in St. Louis, Missouri at the Hollywood Casio Amphitheatre, the Vinyl Verse Summer Tour will take place. 24kGoldn, DJ Drama, Fedd The God and C Dot Castro will join Logic for the collaborative venture, and Berner and Rubi Rose will play certain dates as well.
Vinyl Days, Logic’s eighth and last album for Def Jam, will be released on June 17th. “Bleed It,” “Therapy Music,” and “Orville,” featuring Blue & Exile and Like of Pac Div, were released in favor of the album by the “Young Sinatra” MC, who accused his label for “fucking up” the rollout.
A video of him saying, ““Def Jam, why you fucking up my releases, man?” he said in a video. “First of all, I love you Tunji. Tunji’s my guy, he ain’t got nothing to do with this. What the fuck is going on, man? I told Def Jam that I wanted to release my shit as a two-pack and I just found out that they’re releasing it as two singles at the same time.”
He continued, “What kind of pork is that? well, he didn’t say pork but you get the vibe same difference. On top of that, they’re telling me, ‘Oh, don’t drop your music video early ’cause if you do, you might upset our partners who feel like YouTube’s getting an exclusive.’ I don’t give a fuck about none of that shit. I care about my fans, man. I care about Hip Hop. I care about music.”
Wiz, on the other hand, has had a more low-key 2022 and has been working on a variety of projects. Big K.R.I.T., Smoke DZA and Girl Talk recently collaborated on Full Court Press, while earlier this year Juicy J collaborated with him on Stoner’s Night. Wiz Got Wings was released by the Pittsburgh rapper in 2021.
Here is a complete list of dates and ticketing information for the next tour.
ISTHATPORKS TAKE:
Who doesn’t like a nice concert of an artist representing their brand to the fullest? We have a brand of our own so we know something about that. But, missed are the days when Hip Hop has different identities within the genre’. You use to be able to tell who was who based on a style of rap, song, lyrics, or slogan. Today not so much. It’s hard to differentiate complete identity from the guy that’s just around the corner. We’re hoping that changes. We would love to see someone come out of nowhere and move the needle of the cultures to crazy lengths. Then we’ll get involved and give them their NO PORK AWARD! for doing just that. It’s been long enough. So whose gonna step up to the plate and be no pork in your style for Hip Hop’s sake? As for Wiz & Logic good luck!
