Hollywood took notice of Gwyneth Paltrow’s work after she starred in such films as “Se7en” and “Shakespeare in Love.” However, she decided to take a step back from the public eye and work on her lifestyle business, Goop, for more than a decade.
Goop CEO Gwyneth Paltrow visited her company’s store in Sag Harbor, New York, for this week’s Sunday Sitdown interview with TODAY’s Willie Geist.
Geist tried out a few goods from the Goop line that Paltrow started in 2008, and the Goop founder talked on how much she enjoys expanding her brand.
“I always find it surreal — a little bit — when I come into a store and watch people as they mill around and ask questions and pick things up,” she said. “It’s such a place of discovery for people and everybody’s always smiling when they’re in the store. So, I love coming into the store.”
This Smells Like My Vagina” is one of many Goop items that has made news and been highly discussed on social media.
Paltrow questioned, “Can I say that on morning television?” as she proceeded to explain the candle’s eye-catching moniker.
“This candle is really like that provocation to say like, ‘It’s amazing to be a woman in every way. It’s amazing to have that kind of power and you deserve to have that agency,’” Paltrow explained.
A podcast and a Netflix series have since been launched by the 49-year-old CEO of Goop, which she took over in 2016. In an interview, she described the transition from being an actor to CEO of a corporation as “frightening.”
Her lack of interest in the limelight made it simpler for Paltrow to break away from performing in order to focus on Goop.
“I think it was probably around the time of winning the Oscar where you go from people kind of being curious about you or discovering you or rooting for you to it all being upended, and people really wanting to tear you down and take great pleasure in it,” she said. “Which ends up being a really beautiful lesson in knowing who you are. Loving the people you love. Being totally in integrity. And like f— everybody else.”
To describe herself as “a false extrovert,” she referred to herself as an extrovert who pretended to enjoy being in front of the camera when she didn’t enjoy it at all.
When asked if she preferred not to be the center of attention, she admittedly groaned. “I don’t like being the center of attention,” she said. “I hate speaking in public. And I’ve had to learn all those skills to sort of like prop myself up and do it anyway. But I never felt very, fully comfortable being in the public eye to that degree. I still don’t, but it’s fantastic that I’ve been able to do something that’s very fulfilling and work with a team that I adore.”
Apple, 18, and Moses, 16, are the two children she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin, and her career as a CEO allows her to spend time with them.
A “very blessed” Paltrow remarked of being able to pursue her second work and “maintain hours where I’m able to be home and make them supper” because of it.
Paltrow, although no longer wanting the limelight, continues to act.
In an interview, Gwyneth Paltrow stated that she might consider acting again if she could collaborate with her husband or other friends in the industry once again. Her husband Brad Falchuk, whom she married in 2018, co-created the 2020 Netflix series “The Politician,” in which she recently appeared.
As long as my husband wanted me to do it, that is. “I’d do it,” she assured him.
As a way to fulfill a promise she made to her mother, Paltrow claimed she would take on a theatre role.
“I told her that I would go and do a play,” she shared. “So, I’m going to deliver on that promise at some point.”

Diddy’s Joker costume from the 1989 film provided plenty of laughs on Halloween night. On the other hand, he may have been too immersed in his role when he had a weekend altercation with “Power” actor Michael J. Ferguson.
On camera, Ferguson refers to Diddy as “p—-,” prompting the rapper to laugh like the Joker and label Ferguson “clown.”
“What’s up, baby? You don’t like me,” Diddy asked Ferguson. “Then motherf—— get to it, n—-. If you don’t like me, you motherf—— fronting. Get to it b—-. Don’t f—— play with me on Halloween. I’m out here with love, n—-.”
At this moment, Ferguson still seems to be unaware that the man behind the mask is actually Diddy, as he keeps attacking the performer.
“You f—— p—-, make sure you won’t never talk to me that like,” Diddy said. “We’re having a good time. Why do you want to come at me like that? You got a problem? You really taking over my energy right now. What did I do to you? Do you know who I am?”
Diddy then tells him who he is, and it deescalates.
Recently, movie mogul Tyler Perry challenged Janet Jackson and Jill Scott, two megastar singers, to continue the Why Did I Get Married? series, and Scott has since answered.
The owner of Tyler Perry Studios joked on “Entertainment Tonight” before Perry’s first TheGrio Awards that the two singers are delaying production on Why Did I Get Married 3.
Perry said in a deadpan, “If Janet and Jill Scott say yes, I’m waiting for them to say it.”

The controversial conservative social networking site Parler has announced that it will be acquired by Kanye West.
Parler’s parent company, Parlement Technologies, released a statement on Monday stating that they are “pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement in principle for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, to acquire the Parler platform.”
Further, “the acquisition guarantees Parler a future role in developing an uncancelable ecosystem where all opinions are welcome,” the company said.
President and CEO of Parler George Farmer remarked, “Ye’s acquiring of Parler will strengthen our ability to create an uncancelable ecosystem. No one should have to self-censor out of uncertainty about which legal speech will get him or her banned. No individual or business should worry about being completely deplatformed, as Parler was, merely for the expression of opposing viewpoints.
We intend for Parler to always be a safe space for open discussion and open minds. We shall keep up our resistance to tyranny, censorship, and cancel culture.
The 45-year-old artist and entrepreneur Kanye West bought Parlor after having his Twitter account suspended earlier this month for a regulation violation.
The Hollywood Reporter claims that in a now-deleted tweet, West threatened to unleash “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”
“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” he wrote, per the outlet. “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
Twitter took this action after the Grammy winner had his account blocked by Instagram and had content deleted from his profile for breaking Instagram’s terms of service, as reported by NBC News and CNN.
Even though many people were offended by a post published by West that has since been deleted, a Meta spokeswoman would not clarify to any outlet what content was in violation.
The “Stronger” singer posted a screenshot of a conversation he had with Sean “Diddy” Combs, in which it appeared that West had said Combs, 52, was under Jewish influence. He captioned the photo, “Jesus is Jew,” as reported by NBC News.
