LIL WAYNE MOURNS NOLA OFFICER WHO SAVED HIS LIFE AT 12

At age 12, Lil Wayne shot himself and was saved by a retired New Orleans police officer, who is now deceased.

Robert Hoobler, 65, was found dead in his Jefferson Parish home on Friday, according to nola.com. Car accident-related health problems have been plaguing his late grandfather for years, according to his grandson, Daniel Nelson. Both of Hoobler’s legs were amputated because of his diabetes.

There is still no official word on the cause of death.

Dwayne Carter Jr., a rapper from New Orleans, met Hoobler for the first time on November 11, 1994, in the residence of his mother Hollygrove  apartment. When he heard the police radio report, Hoobler, better known as ‘Uncle Bob,’ was not on duty. After Wayne, a 12-year-old boy, shot himself in the chest with a 9mm pistol, he and five other police were dispatched to the scene.

Through interviews and in his music, Wayne has spoken about his suicide attempt. According to Billboard, he was a guest on Emmanuel Acho’s Uncomfortable Conversations series in August of last year. Acho is the author of the book Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man.

It was revealed throughout the 17-minute exchange that Wayne’s battle with mental illness began at the age of 10.

The Shade Room reports that Wayne revealed in the interview that he pulled the trigger as a sign of his mental health issues. “I tried to hit my heart, but nothing happened… There was no discomfort in my body. The shock was the cause. When the police came knocking, that’s when I realized something was wrong.

Wayne further recalled that only Hoobler, the first officer on the scene, confessed that he had shot himself, while the rest of the officers investigated the house for other weapons and drugs after the shooting.

That is what happened when “I spotted them,” Wayne recalls. “They basically leapt straight over me and ran through the home talking about how they had discovered “drugs,” “a pistol,” and “everything else.”

“And so it took a guy named Uncle Bob and he ran up there. When he got to the top of the steps and saw me there he refused to step over me. One of them yelled like, ‘I got the drugs,” and that’s when he went crazy. And he was like, ‘I don’t give a f*ck about no drugs. Do you not see the baby on the ground?”

In accordance with his instructions, Hoobler hurried Wayne’s bleeding body from the apartment and put it over his lap in the backseat of a police cruiser.. They were rushed to Ochsner Medical Center by another officer. And the rest, as they say, is history.

In 2012, after being fired for using a taser on a suspect during an arrest, Hoobler’s career as a police officer came to an end.

ISTHATPORKS TAKE:

This proves to anybody that memories and moments live forever and we never know when we are on the right or wrong side of history with people we deal with. Well, the conscious knows. It's obvious that "Uncle Bob" was on the right side of history in Wayne's mind. Can't fault being in the right place at the right time to save a life. Then to see that life turn out ok is really personal. Must be like seeing your kid grow up to be successful. It gets personal in a good way. "FOOD YEARS UP TO UNCLE BOB'S LEGACY!". You're still an inspiration today. Whoever said one can't add to their "FOOD YEARS! when they are no longer hear doesn't understand the concept that energy lives forever. We recognize.

T.I. and Tiny’s son, King Harris, was detained on August 31. This prompted the 18-year-old to post a series of videos in which he responded to allegations that he was trying to pass himself off as a gangster.

The videos sparked an immediate outcry, with many people demanding that Tip do a better job of parenting his son so that he wouldn’t have to squander his future for internet fame.

As was previously reported, it was unclear what led to the arrest of the teen.

The Atlanta rap star eventually responded with an Instagram post, warning his critics that their admonitions were ignored.

“Got a small request,” T.I. said. “Stop hitting me and getting in my comments, telling me what to tell King, okay? I know my son. Think I ain’t spoke to my son? Think I ain’t told my son, his mama, and his grandmama?” he began.

“His a– going to prison if he godd— keeps up. His a– going to prison. Ain’t no way around it. Ain’t nothing I’m going to be able to do it about it. Can’t nobody stop it but him. I’ve already had the conversation, I’ve already made my peace with it. ‘Cause I know that energy — I was that energy. I know exactly how it’s gonna turn out.”

Next, he said, “King’s a good kid. He’s chasing after the wrong s— and I trust in God to deal with it the way he see fit… Now, he going have to go through it and get through it… Life is gonna teach him all the lessons he need to know.” King had previously addressed the arrest in a video, saying that he had not sought out police intervention. The young man, then 18, began attacking those who had called him out, and he questioned why the blogs that had reported on his arrest had ignored his most recent music release as Kid Saiyan. Another viral video included a young woman proudly displaying her seatbelt violations while King can be heard stating, “got four.”

Meek Mill’s exit from Roc Nation has been addressed for the first time by Jay-Z. Hov appeared on DJ Khaled’s GOD DID and contributed a verse to the song of the same name. Jay-Z has more than four minutes to say his views on the eight-minute track, which also features Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and John Legend. He starts off by mentioning that he thinks LeBron James should join the ranks of Hip-few Hop’s millionaires.

“Hov did, please, Lord forgive me for what the stove did/ Nobody touched the billi’ until Hov did,” Jay-Z confidently rhymes. “How many billionaires can come from Hov crib? Huh/I count three, me, Ye and Rih/Bron’s a Roc boy, so four, technically.”

“Me and Meek could never beef. I freed that ni**a from a whole bid, Hov did,” the rapper boasts during his 4-minute verse.

Timed to coincide with Meek Mill’s exit from Roc Nation after a decade together is this new verse. Taking to social media on July 11 to set the record straight, Meek stated that his exit was amicable.

“All I seen today was meek and roc part ways. I’m personally handling my own business, so I can take risk and grow,” Mill clarified in his first of a series of tweets. “We came to that agreement together. I have a label deal with Roc for my artist, and I got reform super tied with them and many other investments wit Jigga.”

Drake’s new style is entertaining social media.

The artist’s new hairstyle on Instagram caused a stir.

People see through the jokes to the truth Drake has been proclaiming about himself for years: he won’t change who he is or try to be anyone else.

Paraphrasing a fan “I’ll never forget that Aubrey Graham is an actor whose biggest part to far has been Drake, as @KevCole6 put it on Twitter. With this, his musical legacy is secure. When the dust settles, he will undoubtedly go down as one of the most iconic figures in hip-hop history”. The man behind the music, however, is, hmm, unconventional.
