Did Trump cite the Fifth Amendment in his attorney general deposition? NO!, say it isn’t so …

On Wednesday, Trump cited the Fifth Amendment in his attorney general deposition with the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James. He has stated that he will not answer any questions and will instead use his Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Trump or an assistant struck send on a lengthy public statement outlining his plans shortly after Trump’s motorcade arrived at James’ New York City headquarters in lower Manhattan.

Trump called James a “failed politician” and claimed she “actively cooperated with others” throughout her three-year investigation of the Trump Organization, characterizing it as a “political fishing expedition” against his family.

After three years of intensive investigation, James is nearing the conclusion of his inquiry into allegations of widespread financial malfeasance at the Trump Organization, the multibillion-dollar company of which former president Trump is the sole owner and beneficiary.

Trump’s entire enterprise may be at risk. James has given indications that she is putting the finishing touches on an enforcement action that will be the ultimate product of the huge probe, which could be a multi-million dollar fine and maybe the dissolution of Trump’s corporation.

Once I questioned, “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?” The statement from Trump included the following;

“Now I know the answer to that question. When your family, your company, and all the people in your orbit have become the targets of an unfounded, politically motivated Witch Hunt supported by lawyers, prosecutors, and the Fake News Media, you have no choice.”

This is what the rest of the statement said: “If there was any question in my mind, the raid of my home, Mar-a-Lago, on Monday by the FBI, just two days prior to this deposition, wiped out any uncertainty. I have absolutely no choice because the current Administration and many prosecutors in this Country have lost all moral and ethical bounds of decency.”

Therefore, on the advice of my lawyer and for the foregoing reasons, I am declining to answer the questions in accordance with the rights and privileges accorded to every citizen under the United States Constitution.

In the past, Trump’s legal team has suggested that pleading the Fifth Amendment could be a viable strategy for resisting James’ investigation.

The legal benefits of Trump’s refusal to answer questions are obvious: he will not be able to inadvertently incriminate himself during his sworn, taped testimony. This is especially crucial considering the Manhattan DA’s investigation into Trump’s business is still ongoing, despite appearing to have stalled.

However, there is a drawback to this.

If James’ lawsuit against Trump goes to trial, the recording of Trump pleading the Fifth in response to a laundry list of questions from the AG investigator will be played. The judge will tell the jury that they can make an “adverse inference” from the audio because of New York law.

In other words, they will be allowed to use Trump’s refusal to answer questions as evidence against him, in contrast to criminal prosecution.

After months of legal wrangling, the Trump family finally gave James’ office the testimony they wanted on Wednesday during the highly anticipated deposition.

The Attorney General has launched a wide-ranging probe into possible financial fraud and violations of tax, insurance, and banking regulations on the part of the Trump Organization.

Trump was seen arriving at James’ office on a Wednesday morning, about a week after his two eldest children, Donald Jr. and Ivanka were deposed.

On Wednesday, it wasn’t the first time Trump has claimed the right not to incriminate himself under the Constitution. During his acrimonious divorce from his first wife Ivana in 1990, he pleaded the 5th when asked about allegations of adultery.

During the 2016 presidential election, however, Trump took a different tack, implying that former Hillary Clinton aides who claimed the Fifth Amendment during a congressional inquiry into her use of a private email server as secretary of state had something to hide.

“The mob takes the Fifth,” he said at a September 2016 campaign rally. “If you’re innocent, why are you taking the Fifth Amendment?”

DONALD AND THE 5TH AMENDMENT? all in capital letters. With a question mark. One thing we've realized with Donald is that the only thing he is a man of is "BULLSHIT!" Here he is in a video on many occasions talking about the 5th amendment. What we are reminded of with Donald's Life Movie Reel is that time after time he points you to the sky of a problem, only to let you down that the problem he is referring, is himself. By the time you figure out that it's BULLSHIT he's off to the next thing. There's that sky again about another problem, so on and so forth. The thing to remember though, that the problem he's talking about is "always" himself. By the time people figure that out though they may be dead or threatening to overthrow the govt. He appears to have done this his entire life. Since he's been in our orbit(2015,2016) that's been his go to. It's taking awhile for people to catch on to the f rated Movie. But, this movie is one that took a lot of lives because they catch on too slowly. This Movie also has many regretting they met or supported the man. This Movie won't end well for him or anyone close to him. When you start wrong and keep wrong, you end wrong. And it's not that we don't like Donald Trump. He just doesn't give common sense a chance to.

DOZENS REQUIRE CPR AFTER CROWD SURGE IN SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA… At Itaewon Gathering

Dozens of unresponsive victims requiring CPR at what appeared to have been a large gathering in South Korea on Saturday have raised death toll estimates to several.

Pictures and videos of dozens of people lying on the streets of the trendy Seoul area of Itaewon are currently making the rounds online, with many of them receiving chest compressions from passersby and emergency personnel.

It's clear from the reaction that the scenario is extremely chaotic, and the visuals are unsettling because many of the people in them don't appear to be conscious.

Ground reports indicate that over a hundred people were hurt, with many reportedly suffering cardiac arrest. Photos show police placing tarps over what appear to be dead bodies, suggesting a high death toll, although the New York Times reports only 2 confirmed deaths.

There are so many people here because this is one of the largest Halloween parties in Seoul; word is that tens of thousands of people have crammed into the narrow alleys, which may have caused the stampede.

It has been speculated, but not proven, that the crush occurred when a celebrity was spotted in Itaewon and everyone rushed to the scene's only bar to catch a glimpse of them.

Yoon Suk Yeol, president of South Korea, has already sent emergency services to the city of Seoul, and the mayor is returning from an overseas trip to assess the damage and receive a briefing.

The story is currently evolving…

In Buffalo, New York, four adolescents were killed in a car incident early Monday.

Marcus Webster (19), Swazine Swindle (17), Kevin Payne (16), and Ahjanae Harper (14), according to the New York Post.

Kia, the destroyed vehicle, was reported stolen on Sunday night, according to Buffalo police. Police think the youngsters took the vehicle to take part in “The Kia Challenge,” a viral challenge on the video-sharing platform TikTok in which users are shown how to hot-wire a Kia, a South Korean automobile, using only a screwdriver and a USB connection.

According to WIVB, “five of the six occupants, were ejected.”

The unidentified 16-year-old driver of the stolen vehicle was reportedly one of two people who survived the crash and received treatment at Erie County Medical Center. According to the source, the driver has been arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property and illegal use of a vehicle.

While he awaits his court date today (Friday, October 28), police have freed him on bond.

A 14-year-old girl was the other lucky survivor; she was taken to the hospital and treated in intensive care before being released.

Having recently received a newborn girl on what would have been Harper’s 15th birthday, her family has started a GoFundMe to raise $15,000.

A resident of the area said of her in a TIKTOK video, “SHE WAS A YOUNG MOTHER,

Nashira Anderson, Swindle’s sister, said her sibling’s favorite activities included basketball and jokes.

Webster will be remembered by his family and friends as a dedicated worker who struggled to keep up with both employment and school.

The Buffalo Public School District said, “We certainly send our deepest condolences and sympathies to all the families and everyone impacted by this unfortunate and horrific tragedy,”

WGRZ reports that Kia issued a statement on the matter on Thursday.

Police arrested alledged serial killer in Stockton, Calif.

California, STOCKTON — Suspect in the shooting deaths of six men and the injury of a woman in Northern California was apprehended early Saturday morning as he drove around Stockton with a revolver, authorities said.

Five of the shootings took occurred in this city in the Central Valley, and police began following leads on the culprit around 2 a.m., according to Police Chief Stanley McFadden’s press conference.

Stockton resident Wesley Brownlee, 43, “was out hunting,” according to McFadden. Brownlee wore a mask and all black clothing.

He then stated, “We are sure we stopped another killing.”

For some time, it was unclear if Brownlee was represented by counsel. On Tuesday, he is scheduled to be formally charged with murder.

The black and gray weapon the guy was reportedly carrying was seen on police camera. A semiautomatic handgun made of what looked like plastic and rubber.

Between July 8 and September 27, five men were ambushed and shot dead in Stockton, and police had been seeking for a man in black who had been seen at multiple murder scenes. A car was parked, and four people were walking.

A man was killed in Oakland, 70 miles distant, in April 2021, and a week later, a homeless lady was injured in Stockton; police suspect the same individual was responsible for both attacks.

Ballistics testing and surveillance footage, according to investigators, proved the crimes were related.

A moment of silence was observed at the press conference in honor of the victims.

On April 10, 2021, Juan Vasquez Serrano, 39, was shot and murdered in Oakland; on April 16, 2021, Natasha LaTour, 46, was shot but survived in Stockton. Five men were slain in Stockton this year: 35-year-old Paul Yaw on July 8; 43-year-old Salvador Debudey Jr. on August 11; 21-year-old Jonathan Hernandez Rodriguez on August 30; 52-year-old Juan Cruz on September 21; and 54-year-old Lawrence Lopez Sr. on September 27.

Brownlee has a criminal background, according to the police, and he is thought to have lived in other places in the Stockton area.

Hundreds of leads poured in when authorities announced the manhunt, and investigators were able to track down and keep a close eye on Brownlee’s residence.

With the help of information from the public and Stockton Crime Stoppers, police were able to narrow in on a likely culprit, as McFadden explained. “Our agents kept tabs on him as he drove around. We observed his behavior and realized he was on a killing spree first thing this morning.”

McFadden further mentioned that Brownlee was held because he had been seen going to parks and other dimly lit areas, stopping to look around, and then continuing on.

They were looking into the attacks to see if they could determine a reason for them. The police reported that some of the victims were homeless but not all. No one was hurt, and the one woman who made it out alive claimed her attacker was silent.

The police chief acknowledged the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Marshals Service, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration.

Investigators in the area have teamed up with their counterparts in Chicago to look into the possibility of a connection between these slayings and two homicides that occurred in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood in 2018. A man in black with a peculiar walk was spotted on surveillance footage, according to the authorities.
