Following his role in Field of Dreams, Ray Liotta found success as a leading man in Martin Scorsese’s 1990 mob drama Goodfellas. He was 67 years old at the time.

According to reports, he passed away peacefully while filming Dangerous Waters in the Dominican Republic. More information will be provided as soon as it is available.

Deaths in the film and media industries have been many in 2022 so far.

Liotta had a renaissance during the time. He has recently appeared in The Many Saints of Newark, Marriage Story (for which he shared a 2020 Indie Spirit Award), and No Sudden Movement. As soon as he finished Elizabeth Banks’ Cocaine Bear, he was set to play alongside Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley in Working Title’s The Substance.

Executive producing the A&E docuseries Five Families, which chronicles the rise and fall of the New York mafia’s Gambino family, Bonnano family and Lucchese family was also just announced by him.

Black Bird, Hanna, and Shades of Blue are just a few of the shows he’s appeared in, but he’s also a well-known actor for his performances in the big-budget films and TV shows.

Liotta earned a Primetime Emmy Award in 2005 for his appearance on ER and was nominated for two SAG Awards for his roles in Texas Rising and The Rat Pack, in which he played Frank Sinatra.

His parts in Hannibal, Narc, Blow, and Copland were all well-remembered.

A Newark, NJ native, Liotta attended the University of Miami’s acting program before landing the role in Another World. For the first time since his appearances on St. Elsewhere (1983) and Casablanca (1983), NBC’s prequel series to the iconic picture, in 1983 he appeared in a string of minor roles. Rick was portrayed on screen by David Soul.

His first major film role as Ray Sinclair, opposite Melanie Griffith and Jeff Daniels, was in the romantic comedy Something Wild, which premiered in the mid-1980s on ABC as a cop drama called Our Family Honor. In 1988, he co-starred in Dominick and Eugene with Tom Hulce, which also featured Jamie Lee Curtis.

As a result, he landed his two most well-known parts.

Field of Dreams, starring Liotta as a ghostly Shoeless Joe Jackson, is widely regarded as one of the best baseball movies ever made by Hollywood. When Ray Kinsella (Costner) builds a stadium in an Iowa cornfield, his character, who was banned from baseball for life following the 1919 “Black Sox” scandal, is given the opportunity to play again. Burt Lancaster appeared in his final film role in Driving Miss Daisy, which won the Best Picture Oscar for the picture written and directed by Phil Alden Robinson.

Then Scorsese called.

Liotta was cast as Henry Hill in Goodfellas, the filmmaker’s first foray into the mob genre following 1988’s The Last Temptation of Christ. The film, which starred Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, and Paul Sorvino, chronicled the character’s dramatic ascent and fall within the Mafia. Goodfellas was a critical and economic triumph, garnering six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture. Joe Pesci took home the award for Best Supporting Actor and Martin Scorsese earned his third nomination for Best Director.

From 1978 until 1981, he played Joey Perrini on the soap opera Another World.

As a Henry Hill impersonator, Liotta narrated an account of how he became a member of an organized crime group at John F. Kennedy International Airport in 1978, when he robbed Lufthansa of more than $5 million in cash and diamonds from its air cargo building. One of the six Oscar nominations for the film was awarded to Pesci, who adapted Nicholas Pileggi’s novel alongside director Martin Scorsese. That film will live on in popular culture forever. Liotta leaves behind a daughter, Karsen. He was engaged to be married to Jacy Nittolo.
Thank you for the memories Ray. RIP!

isthatporkstake; when you share the same earth time with people you never forget them. Many of us didn’t know Ray directly but we know what he gave us. How he made us feel while we watched him on TV. Yeah, I’m not gonna lie, sometimes that devilish grin he’d have I wasn’t too fond of. I’d be like “what’s up with this guy looking like that?” then I realized the girls liked him. Then I understood that I had an opinion out of many that really didn’t mean anything so I began to open up and watch his movies from a different angle. Different outlook. As I started to mature I realized that among other things the better the actor acts you may or may not want to kick their ass. I wanted to kick Ray’s ass a few times in his roles because he acted so good. You know an actor is doing something good when you’re yelling at the TV screen when they are on. “He was a Good One!” R.I.P RAY!

What’s your take on the memory of Ray Liotta?

Diddy’s Joker costume from the 1989 film provided plenty of laughs on Halloween night. On the other hand, he may have been too immersed in his role when he had a weekend altercation with “Power” actor Michael J. Ferguson.

On camera, Ferguson refers to Diddy as “p—-,” prompting the rapper to laugh like the Joker and label Ferguson “clown.”

“What’s up, baby? You don’t like me,” Diddy asked Ferguson. “Then motherf—— get to it, n—-. If you don’t like me, you motherf—— fronting. Get to it b—-. Don’t f—— play with me on Halloween. I’m out here with love, n—-.”

At this moment, Ferguson still seems to be unaware that the man behind the mask is actually Diddy, as he keeps attacking the performer.

“You f—— p—-, make sure you won’t never talk to me that like,” Diddy said. “We’re having a good time. Why do you want to come at me like that? You got a problem? You really taking over my energy right now. What did I do to you? Do you know who I am?”

Diddy then tells him who he is, and it deescalates.

Kanye West to Buy Conservative Social Platform Parler After Twitter, Instagram Ban

The controversial conservative social networking site Parler has announced that it will be acquired by Kanye West.

Parler’s parent company, Parlement Technologies, released a statement on Monday stating that they are “pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement in principle for Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, to acquire the Parler platform.”

Further, “the acquisition guarantees Parler a future role in developing an uncancelable ecosystem where all opinions are welcome,” the company said.

President and CEO of Parler George Farmer remarked, “Ye’s acquiring of Parler will strengthen our ability to create an uncancelable ecosystem. No one should have to self-censor out of uncertainty about which legal speech will get him or her banned. No individual or business should worry about being completely deplatformed, as Parler was, merely for the expression of opposing viewpoints.

We intend for Parler to always be a safe space for open discussion and open minds. We shall keep up our resistance to tyranny, censorship, and cancel culture.

The 45-year-old artist and entrepreneur Kanye West bought Parlor after having his Twitter account suspended earlier this month for a regulation violation.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that in a now-deleted tweet, West threatened to unleash “death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.”

“I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE,” he wrote, per the outlet. “The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

Twitter took this action after the Grammy winner had his account blocked by Instagram and had content deleted from his profile for breaking Instagram’s terms of service, as reported by NBC News and CNN.

Even though many people were offended by a post published by West that has since been deleted, a Meta spokeswoman would not clarify to any outlet what content was in violation.

The “Stronger” singer posted a screenshot of a conversation he had with Sean “Diddy” Combs, in which it appeared that West had said Combs, 52, was under Jewish influence. He captioned the photo, “Jesus is Jew,” as reported by NBC News.
